NASA LETTER!

Dear Biology Students,
Space exploration is very important to NASA. Because of this, I would like to challenge Texas Biology students to build a model of an ecosystem that will help us educate people on the requirements necessary to sustain life.
NASA will select the best designs from the top three schools in Texas. Successful models will include both biotic and abiotic elements of an ecosystem and address the requirements below.
NASA would like to follow the progress of your model and investigations online. We are specifically interested in daily observations of:
CO2 and O2 data
As well as changes in soil chemistry over time.
Please provide a detailed annotated diagram of your model with a description of how energy flows through the system as well as interactions of components. You will present your design proposals the week of December 19th. Presentations must include a detailed description of:
How matter and energy flow through the levels of your model ecosystem.
The interactions that occur among elements of your ecosystem
Visual representations of all data and analysis including predictions based on trends in your data
I expect great things from the Texas students.
